Legend has it that the zipper as an invention had a hard time spreading around the world, because people were very good with buttons and laces. In addition, they looked strangely at the product marketed by the marketing gurus under the sound imitation "zipper". Launched in 1925, the zipper took more than 5 years of campaigning to finally catch on worldwide. The zipper was first promoted as a gap filler, suitable for concealing, for example, a woman's breasts from prying eyes. But what can be used for quick concealment can also be used for quick removal. Finally, the zipper has become known for its association with sex. The first zipped trousers were produced in 1936 and were popularised among the aristocracy by the British King Edward VIII, who reigned for 326 days. The zipper went on to conquer the world and became an essential component of bags, shoes, pencil cases and briefcases, as well as clothes.
