Stick blenders

Stick blenders are the descendants of the drink-mixing machines invented at the dawn of the twentieth century. Today, they are the elite of blenders. The Germans simply call them magic sticks, because life in the kitchen has really been made easier since the 1960s. Perfect for emulsifying sauces, blending soups and mixing ice-cold drinks, they literally work wonders with the consistency of food and drinks. Swiss-made immersion blenders need to be oiled from time to time, otherwise they emit a shrill screeching sound and after a while become unbearable and become fed up with their owners' carelessness. To prevent stick-blenders from rebelling, they should be occasionally bathed in paraffin oil. They then become as lively as if they had been smeared with fat. After a little oiling, they stir their morning drinks almost melodiously. Old stick blenders tend to finish their power in a few minutes and tend to imitate the sound of a chainsaw.
