Foot bubble baths

The telephone lines were on fire at the Foot Baths Inspectorate. It was Friday afternoon, when everyone in the office should have been working, but no one was. This afternoon was different from all the others. The director was testing a vibrating, whirlpool massage and water-heated footbath in his office. He had been preparing for weeks to refresh his tired, weary legs and relax his leg muscles. To relax, he opened a long-cherished 2019 Ichiro's Malt & Grain whisky. The director has heard it said a lot from his father that in the long run, the most relaxing thing to do is to relax the body and the mind at the same time. As he didn't want to be disturbed during the self-indulgence, he ordered all employees to go home at noon sharp. He even chased the janitorial staff home. The director was left alone in the completely empty building, and after the reception staff had left, he himself made sure that all the entrances to the office were locked. Taking a big swig of whisky, he poured lukewarm water over the footbath to cover the ankle and then sprinkled four tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda into the water. Of course, we do not know, nor do we claim, that the events occurred as described above, but the director was found dead in his office on Monday morning, his feet still soaking in the footbath. An investigation revealed that the footbath was manufactured in China and assembled on a faulty production line. The electronic insulation of the footbath was faulty. The manager's feet had been soaking for half an hour when, after a final sip of whisky, he noticed a strange burnt smell. The director was then electrocuted to death, and his mind was forever relaxed.
